Othniel was born to Sylvia Demetrius and Charles Miller in St. Elizabeth Jamaica on September
2, 1936. As the first born to both his parents, he was the beloved eldest brother, survived by
nine siblings. He was raised by his grandmother Clementina Miller, whom he cherished dearly.
A carpenter by trade, Othniel demonstrated his expertise at his skill and was appointed to a
position of leadership even during his years of apprenticeship in Jamaica. After emigrating to
the United States, he was able to establish his sole proprietorship known as Milo Carpenters in
Soho, New York where he specialized in general contracting, masonry and carpentry projects.
Mr. Miller was a devout Christian and faithful member of the John Hus Moravian Church in
Brooklyn, NY where he served in numerous entities. Even in his time of sickness preceding his
death, Mr. Miller was able to hold tight to the word of the Lord.
Othniel was known and loved by all for his love of life, family, music and God. Everywhere he
went his presence was known and he was loved and accepted by all.
Othniel is survived by his two daughters Angella and Stephnie Miller along with 8 grandchildren,
2 great grandchildren and a host of step children, step grandchildren and step great-
grandchildren who adore him equally.
He is predeceased by his sons Ansel and Kerwin Miller who he will now join in heaven.
If you knew Mr. Miller well- even in this great time of sorrow as we mourn his departure, he
would ensure us that “ Every little thing is gonna be alright.”
